Sailing yacht photographer

Classic and modern sailing yachts under sail, at anchor and on board, shot by a photographer who sails.

Classic schooner Invader (1905) under full sail

I learned the sea before I learned the shot. Years of liveaboard sailing, including a voyage to Western Samoa and Tokelau, taught me how a sailing yacht moves, how she heels and where the light falls on sails and deck.

From the chase boat I read wind and trim with the skipper, so we set up the angles that show the yacht at her best: close-hauled with a bow wave, under gennaker, heeling in a fresh breeze.

On board I shoot the crew at work, the deck details and the interiors, from classic schooners such as Invader (1905) to modern sailing superyachts.

From the air, a drone shows the sail plan and the deck layout in a way no other angle can.
